Anyone want to post a video today that doesn't make me feel totally inept?

I'm with Graham! That was a hell of a teaser, I was left wanting more.

Awesome. The end was pretty epic, too, haha. Awesome stuff Cionn, you're an inspiration.

Yeah! Here's some tutorials Urban Current has made. Start with the basic tutorial

And once you kind of have that, check out my advanced tutorial.

Apology accepted, Matt. Way to man up.

@ Zach: How amazing are parallel bars at the gym? Honestly.

Nice! Some fun training right there. Well done.

I remember watching this! Oh man. This was one of my favorites. The one hand cat was epic, but I loved that little speed vault of his, plus the landing was so clean. Ahhh. The days of idolizing david belle.

I'm curious.
How has the forum gotten to this?
It's personal choice. You're free to use whatever methods you choose to overcome your obstacles.
Other people not using this or using this. Does it matter? Really?
Work on yourself, and quit worrying about others.
Who cares what others do, it's not you, so why bother.
If you like underbars, do em, work on em.
This is a pointless thread, and it disgust me that this forum has come to this.
You have even put this thread into the wrong forum.
If you're gonna go post something like this shove it in "Socialize"

Calm down, brother. The purpose of forum is discussion. If you don't like the topic of discussion, then don't get involved with it, but as you see below you, it may interest others, so unless you own this forum, or you have been appointed a position of authority by someone who does own this forum, then you don't have the right to close down a conversation.

Yang, I don't think they are dying by any means. Underbars are definitely more scarce, and I see them much more in soft, training-style flow than in real explosive situations. Since the most common videos are all showreels with big fancy movements, which continue to advance, you'll see less and less of those simple movements we were once so familiar with. That's simply the evolution of motion. Plenty of people including myself still do underbars, and still apply the concepts behind the underbar to their movement. No need to fret. Like I said, the more advanced we get, the less and less you will obviously see the basic movements we used to see in Vault 101 videos. Smiley

thanks Adam that really helps me not hate rolls becase of pain. Was that you who made the video?

Yep! Glad it helps!

Shadow: Oh, one of our older videos. I don't know! I tried searching the lyrics, but to no avail. I'll ask Ozzi, he should get back to you soon.

Yeah, I'm with scratch. You have some insane height on those tricking techniques. More than I think I've ever seen on grass.

Awesome tricking.

You hear that loud incoherent grunt as his legs collapsed?  That there is the sound of success!

LOL

12  Parkour and Freerunning / Pics & Vids / Re: Music in Parkour Videos? on: November 19, 2009, 05:31:46 AM
For finding music, I just listen to everything I can. TV commercials, radio, youtube like Gabe said, anything. Or sometimes if I see a parkour video with a song I like, I look up that artist and see if they've made other good songs as well. Typically, that's been the case.

1. Warm -Up
2. Choose a direction
3. Run for five minutes, keep as straight a line as possible
4. At five minutes, change direction, run again.

Repeat  steps 3 and 4 until tired, stop stretch, walk home.

I'm not sure you have the right topic. I'm also not sure your training routine is all that holistic.

I assume you're talking about the classes. You can just show up. The first time, though, you'll have to be there a few minutes early, as they have a bunch of insurance papers to fill out. But yes, you just walk in, pay the gym 15 dollars, and then leave whenever you need to. If you can only stay until 4, that's okay, but its still as much money, I can't change that. If it was up to me, I'd cut your rate in half for it, but unfortunately the gym makes the financial arrangements. But yes, its not formal. Walk in, pay the gym money, and leave whenever. Each class is it's own, you don't have to be there for the whole course to learn from the classes.

Dude. That wallflip towards the end was AWESOME. I replayed that part like 20 times.
