3  Connect With Others / Michigan / Re: I started a Parkour club at my high school (need help) on: October 21, 2009, 09:22:28 PM
that's awesome they approved it! I'm still working on a good liability waiver for our club here, that I will pass on to the legal services on campus. But I can give you the draft that we're working on for our guidelines and waiver that has been looked over by our Department of Public Safety. I think there are some threads out there with some info on this too if you can find one. you could also look at the primal fitness waiver for some ideas, though i'd think about asking Mark first. Anyways, message/email me and i can send it to you.

Again, awesome job man! representing MIPK well. you have really good control, but the video doesnt do the size of some of the moves justice.

also, i want to point out that Wenxin is one of the youngest guys that trains with us which just adds to how amazing this is.

Hey, bringing a friend with me on Sunday when I come down. He's never done parkour before, so I would like to get him out and show him what parkour really is. No housing needed.

The Calendar on the front page is wrong. Look at the title of the thread.. the jam already happened. (Thanks to those that came and made it awesome. And sorry to those of you that were confused or missed it because of this)

But, we do have regular training in Ann Arbor on Sunday at 4pm at the Dental School, and you are welcome to come to that!

Sorry for the last minute post. For people that need housing:

We will have housing for everyone If you need to know where you are staying before you leave call me. My number is 410 570 4711. Otherwise, call when you show up to find out where you're staying.

We will meet in the Diag on Central Campus tonight at around 8pm (to allow everyone to get food) and go from there.

Thanks, and i hope this didn't cause any major inconveniences. Can't wait to see everyone!

12  Connect With Others / Michigan / Re: Jam transportation on: July 24, 2009, 11:39:49 PM
So Colorado is up next from August 7-10. If you haven't bought plane tickets i'd do that now. If you're looking for a ride, i think your best bet would be to check on craigslist under rideshares. I think Hamid has talked to someone already and may be getting a ride there that way.  I've also heard rumors of groups driving from DC and/or NY, but i can't confirm anything. I'll post here if i hear something definite.

And I announced the date for the Ann Arbor Jam in the national jams section- so make sure you can make it!
13  Connect With Others / National Jams / MIPK/ Ann Arbor Jam 2009 - September 18-20 on: July 24, 2009, 11:28:35 PM
We finally decided on a date! It will be September 18-20th. I will update this with more details when we have them, but mark your calendars!

UPDATE: Tentative Schedule

Friday ~7pm - Some light training and fun on the North Campus wave field and surrounding areas

Saturday 10:30am - Meet and warm-up in the Diag of Central Campus
               11am   - Dental/ Kellog
               12pm   - Belltower/ Hill
1pm  - Lunch - State street is right nearby and has lots of restaurants
2pm  - Meet back up at Rackam
                3pm  - End at Biomed
7pm - BBQ - Please bring money to help cover the cost Smiley

Sunday       11am - Meet up at the Diag again for a warm-up
             11:30am - Chemistry atrium
12:30pm - Lunch on South University st.
               1:30pm - North Campus

The format will be similar to last year's. On Saturday we will be holding clinics for different techniques before we open up a spot to jam.  With this format, we're trying to minimize the jam-syndrome of standing around and watching the more proficient people hit a few big moves, while still allowing those guys to session each spot as they wish.

Housing: Please RSVP with the following info to help us sort out housing and transportation. We'll know where everyone is staying when the jam gets closer.

Name(s)?
How many people need housing?
If you need transportation, what are your flight details (i.e. Arrival/departure times, carrier, flight number)?
What is a good way to reach you (i.e. cell phone number, email address, etc.)?

Update from Travis- Hit me up at seven three four six four five 7424 if you need help finding the group. I'll let Mike or the other guys post up their numbers at their own discretion.

Mike Metze- 410-five seven oh- 4711
