Hmm, I do the full turn starting facing long ways (parallel). I think that may be a bit harder than perpendicular. Dunno. Have you tried both?

Nice drills though.

There are a lot of variations to these drills that you can do. Some of the variables include direction facing, squatting or standing, one foot or two foot, and so on.

It sounds like your full turn may be a little harder. I have a hell of a hard enough time sticking either one though so it doesn't really matter! I usually get both feet back to the rail but can't hold my balance.

Doing both can't hurt. Impressed though with the 360 at primal! I still can't stick it consistently. I'm building one of these balancing poles asap

my balance is one of my biggest weaknesses in PK...

I did about 1.5 hours of just the rail squatting (as best as I could) and it improved my balance greatly even when walking on a rail.  Definitely a good drill of the month.

Great vid. I'll add the exercises to my routine too.

Hey you stole that from the intermediate class!!! Or maybe we stole it from you ;D
Either way those are awesome drills, and they really do help your balance a ton. I saw improvement after just a few times going through a little routine.

I found a good way to get my balance up before moving on to do this was every day close my eyes and stand on one foot with my hands by my side and balance for half a minute and repeat for the other foot. Doesn't sound like much but did really help me. Going to incorporate this drill into my routine now though.

thanks, i think this will help a lot! imma go try it out tomorrow when im training. I think the one where you squat downslowly will help my cat balance, it really needs work.
