Title: Re: Demon Drill of the Month - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: Max G on April 15, 2007, 04:04:33 PM i've been trying to organize a hell night in my city; when i first read blane's blog entry about his hell nights i was in shock about what they put themselves through.
Title: Re: Demon Drill of the Month - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: Animus on April 15, 2007, 07:48:16 PM While a similar practice has always been in my training regimen, Blane's Hell Night and your Gauntlet are far more intense. It may be that I do it alone, so there's no real reason that pushes me to literally kill myself that day... But I'll see about starting something organized in my area. Thanks.
Title: Re: Demon Drill of the Month - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: Ryan Ford on April 27, 2007, 10:29:02 AM Progress anyone? If anyone has started one or is working on it, I want to hear about it!
Title: Re: Demon Drill of the Month - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: Gregg on April 27, 2007, 01:33:24 PM I walked around the private property where I usually train. I think I could set up something similar like this for myself. Make it really basic now, and amp up the difficulty as I get better. There's an industrial laundry chute that drops 6 floors into the basement. ;D
[Edit] Checked out the laundry chute last night. It hasn't been used in probably 10 years, so it was pretty nasty. Getting up to the first floor chute opening is easy enough. Unfortunately, it's a tight squeeze, with no hand-holds on the other side, and the door is spring loaded. I think I will not put this in my beginning level gauntlet. Title: Re: Demon Drill of the Month - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: PD on April 29, 2007, 10:51:36 PM Your article really inspired me to make my own gauntlet here in Cali. Colleges are so good for this so I'm working on one at UCLA. I created a mini gauntlet that I put some of the guys through that I train with. It lasted about 1hr. We went to five different areas doing 3 rounds of different conditioning drills.
Your article was so good with all of the pics and the descriptions. I'll see if I can't get some this week or weekend and show you what I've come up with. It was such a great workout. I can't wait to keep doing it every week. And I'm anxious to come to Colorado to train with you and hopefully check out your gauntlet. (maybe this summer). Here's a link to my write up, the video is at the bottom: http://pauldarnell.com/uclagaunt.html Title: Re: April 2007 - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: applesauce1289 on May 29, 2007, 04:09:20 PM I like your gauntlet a lot PD. I'm actually excited to go back to school in the fall so I can make my own.

Title: Re: April 2007 - The Parkour Conditioning Gauntlet Post by: PD on May 29, 2007, 10:52:12 PM Thanks guys! We hit it up once a week on Saturdays.
