Title: Zander's Training Log (comments or tips appreciated) Post by: Zander G on October 25, 2009, 12:17:58 PM I figured id start one of these since im starting to train more seriously this month.
A little background: I live outside of a very small town in the woods. No one to train with yet. I spend half of my day at my school and then go for the other half of my day at a Police Science program. Every Tuesday and Thursday is workout day at PS so usually no parkour on those days. Morning: Practiced handstands, QM around the house. Resisted the urge to palmspin a freezer at the grocery store :P Afternoon: 30 mins of woodland Parkour. Underbar on branches, Tictacs on trees, vaults over dog box, ect. Practiced more handstands (still cant get balance...). Steeler game ;D Title: Re: Zander's Training Log (comments or tips appreciated) Post by: Zander G on October 26, 2009, 05:29:15 PM Whew. Trained for 2 and a half hours at a park behind my old elementary school.
My kongs have definitely improved. So have my reverse vaults. more fluid and can go farther. Also worked on my lefty lazy/thief vaults and my palmspins. I also tried out some kind of protein drink while i was training. Pretty tasty. On the downside i was doing a precision from the ground, over one rail and landing on the next, and my right ankle gave out. :-\ it feels alright now though but im not sure how it will be tomorrow. I noticed ive been neglecting my rolls... I need to work on those... Goals: Lefty vaults more natural. Work on rolls. Been out for a while with my pulled groin, but did some light training tonight. Short run. Vaults. Got bored and tried out some things i watched in videos last night, like a butterfly kick and a cheat gainer. No face plants, but cant seem to get them right. My lefty lazys and thiefs are getting better. Almost as good as right handed. Some roll training as well. no pain in grass, but im still afraid to try it on concrete. What are your goals? Title: Re: Zander's Training Log (comments or tips appreciated) Post by: Zander G on November 23, 2009, 02:46:30 PM Ouch! What are your goals? Um... i havent really made much of a list but i guess some would be... Extend the range of my precisions Land 5 perfect precisions (only 5 ft) Improve my rolls so it doesnt hurt at all anymore Be able to hold a handstand for more than 5 seconds Make my transition from landing to running more fluid. (not that great right now. Land, Stumble, Run :-[) Is that what you were meaning? and should i put these in my first post or what? Nov. 23, 2009 Finally got back out there to train. Havent done much besides the occasional vault/wallrun/palmspin for fun. Trained for about an hour and a half. Tried a one handed reverse vault and it worked pretty good. drilled precisions for quite a while till it started to aggravate my groin again... Tried to do as many different movements as i could on a pair of rails. After all that, i went for a short run. And now, i have ice on both sides of my groin :-X Ohhh yea. And i did 60 pushups in 2 mins at PS Title: Re: Zander's Training Log (comments or tips appreciated) Post by: David Glass on December 23, 2009, 06:25:00 PM yeap, good goals. just set a time limit for them
