American Parkour

Hey, just throwin out an idea that I thought would be really cool. Get some people together around October and dress up as zombies or other creatures and jam in the downtown Denver area. A bunch of people freerunning dressed like that would be a cool event!

DUDEEEEEEEEEEE. Zombies + parkour = sexxxxxxx man two bombest things ever, thad be sick!

Halloween night would be best but there might be lots of snow. And deffinitely not all the same outfit.

Okay so whoever is interested lets figure out what days work well for you. I'm off on more or less weekdays but I can take a day off on the weekend too. I was thinking it should definitely take place into the evening. Like 3:00pm-? I have a car so I can help get a few people around. But lets go for somewhere around the 2nd week in Oct. then.

Why wouldn't you do it at least the week of halloween, if not halloween itself? It makes so much more sense to do it as close to the holiday as possible, if not on the holiday. 2nd week in October people are just going to think 'they're retarded' vs. 'they must love halloween': which is a more predictable responce the closer to the holiday it is. I still vote on DAY OF halloween, but that's just me.

Look, I just want to do what works for people. If a bunch of people will be gone by Halloween then we need to be flexible. If only two people can show, it kinda takes away from the effect.

Well honestly, I think i'm one of the few CO traceurs that just graduted, let alone going to college out of state, I think pretty much everyone Else I jam with are all stickin' around here (cuz COLORADO ROCKS!!!) so don't schedule around me, then I would feel wierd, but if you want to then by all means do

Better idea: HALLOWEEN ZOMBIE MONTH JAM!! Throughout the entire month, imagine if every day of October at least 3 or more people got together and jammed in different places... DTC, downtown, school of mines, red rocks, the list goes on and on. Even if you jam around your neighborhood, if we did it all dressed up as zombies for a full month, we would definitely get some media attention. On top of that, if you couldn't make one day, you could make another, etc. etc. THIS IS BRILLIANT!! :P

P.S. Don't forget the zombie suits! :P

although a zombie month jam does sound awesome..
to do a legit zombie costume takes awhile.
ive done zombies that took me 2 hours and looked bomb as hell..

but i do NOT have a months worth of spirit glue, makeup, fake blood, or any of the other good stuff to do that lol

so, only do it on certain days... how many traceurs are in colorado? Maybe if each of us did it once a week, we'd still be able to fill up everyday...

So who's in? If we get enough support, I'll definitely start devising a calendar and adding hot spots to specific days. Let's start doing a role call. Include:

Days willing to jam in October
Places you want to hit

All I ask is don't say, 'I want to jam at X place on Y date!' Just give a general idea and i'll start working on an 'official calendar', that can be changed as we go along.


OR, you could tell me to shut up and we'll just jam where we want, when we want in October, as long as we're dressed up like zombies

OR we could all just agree to dress up like zombies during any jam in October we were planning on going to anyway.

Mon.-Thurs. Definitely. But I can't do it more than a few times cause that airbrushing n everything gets kinda pricey 4 me.
Really want to hit the area around the Cherry Creek mall and like 2nd and Filmore(to freak people out) :o

Finally, a taker. Excellent. Now is that Mon-Thurs good for all four weeks of the month? If so, I suggest week 1-mon week2-tues, etc. so that way you don't have to airbrush as much (only once a week). All up to you, just throwing that out there.

I say we do a halloween day, where everyone does parkour in ANY halloween costume they desire.  Zombie idea is still cool, and I'm going to do it. And get shot by scared people. But my "halloween" costume isn't going to be zombie.  If you don't mind, I'm going to organize a separate jam, one day only, with whatever costumes people like.

i like both ideas. the zombie one could get real interesting, but like funk dragon some variety would be nice to as long as im not out training for the army count me in

hey so what type of makeup will u guys get? I know we will need something that is water resistant because we will be running and sweating. Im all new at this I never used makeup for holloween i always used costumes.

I think this is getting awesome... I can't wait until October to set all this up... I want to try to put an 'official' schedule together for October, so make sure to post/PM/call/text me dates available and ideas... I'll try to compile all of it into an awesome schedule.... KEYWORD: try... :P

make one bloodhawk, just tear some old workout clothes up and put some fake blood on where they "bit" you. now on face paint im not sure.

well an attack/chase would be easy to stage purely because the "bites" could just be taped down blood packs (they taste disgusting but are non-toxic and create a pretty sweet effect), while us (the zombies) getting shot would be ALOT harder and more expensive to stage..
is this gonna be a downtown thing or boulder..
do we have a definite consensus on a location???

Zane, -1 on not reading the whole thread (j/k), but I've already mentioned that this thing should be month-long. As in, a jam everyday in October where we are all zombie-fied. KEYWORD: everyday. This means we can do it in a bunch of different places. Boulder. Downtown. FoCo. DTC. Springs. You name it. I've been trying to get information from people on where they want to jam on what days so I could try to conduct an official schedule. I'm started to feel redundant. Let's try this one more time. :P

I don't think we'd have to stage the shooting.  I know if I were downtown and I some a zombie chase down and bite some guy to death, I'd kill that undead bastard.  Hopefully other colorado residents aren't as prepared for a zombie apocalypse as I am.

Good news its ok to have a BBQ after words at my house if people are interested but my dad says we are tight on money so drinks and food and all needs to be brought but I have the grills, the house, and seating room, pluse an ok place to go do more parkour after words if people are interested send me a pm, so I can get an idea as to who is all up for this. ;D ;D ;D

They are all supposed to be the costume jams, Adrian. I personally am NOT showing up in costume for one reason: someone might need to talk to authorities. I have a few friends that are cops, so I'm pretty good at telling them what they need to know/want to hear.

Howd it go? Thats funny because tomorrow there is a HUGE zombie walk thing (http://www.eyeheartbrains.com) going on downtown.

Sad to say, it didn't really. 

There were only about 4-5 of us, and nobody in zombie costume.  We pretty much just did the normal jamming, and some new kids showed up around 5:30-ish, but other than that it was a normal Friday afternoon at the Cat.

If I think Im right about whom your talking about...We were there about 5ish but we went to the little steps and ridges down at the other end to warm up and wait to see if anyone came. Then joined in after we saw some people.

 Friday, 17th. Showed up late. Only Zombie I saw was myself in the reflections of building windows n passing cars.

I got some pretty good video and pictures of the jam. I got a really good video of a guy that just showed up in a zombie costume and he does this crazy ass flip and lands into a front roll. It was mad crazy
