September 21-23 The University of Michigan Parkour club held their annual national jam in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The jam attracted traceurs from Washington, D.C. to Illinois, and all over the state of Michigan with over 150 people attending on the event page.

Friday night started with some light training downtown as people from out of town arrived. But shortly after it started raining and the jam moved to a nearby parking structure until everyone broke off for food and sleep (and for some more jamming at the Freedom Freerunning academy gym). 

On Saturday morning, everyone met up at the University of Michigan's campus. The group was so large that we had to split the warm-up into two separate groups. Shortly after moving to the first spot of the jam, it started to rain. Most people tried to wait it out and do some tricking under the cover of the building, but some braved the conditions and continued to train. The rain finally stopped by mid-afternoon, so we were able to hit a few more spots around campus. Despite the weather, everyone's spirits were high

Saturday evening Nate (and his housemates) were awesome enough to let the jam crash his backyard for a BBQ. Oh, and did I mention there was a giant geodesic dome!! (See picture). A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped make it possible!

The attendance on Sunday was notably less, but still one of the best 3rd day showings we have had at this jam. We continued jamming at new spots around campus as everyone left to go home.

I would like to personally thank the Michigan Department of Public Safety for being helpful and understanding in letting us move forward with this event.

It was great to see so many people this year! Thanks to everyone for making the Ann Arbor jam one of my favorite jams ever!
